Thank you for supporting our family farm! It means the world to us to share our products with you.
Once your starter arrives, you’ll first need to let your starter settle in the jar and come to room temperature.
Once it has settled in, transfer it to a new glass jar that has a lid.
You can use any glass jar you would like, as long as you can loosely cover it; it doesn’t have to be sealed airtight.
I use Weck Jars to store my sourdough starter. A kitchen scale and silicone spatula are also helpful when learning to feed and maintain your starter.
You’ll want to go ahead and feed your starter soon after it arrives.
Here are instructions for feeding and maintaining your sourdough starter:

Once you’re comfortable feeding and maintaining your starter, you’re ready to begin making delicious sourdough recipes.
